After speaking to my lecturer, I decided to move back to the 'clamp around' lamp design. It got a warm reception from the panel of lecturers and AT rep during the presentation, and is overall a more attractive packaging option for my concept.

I sketched out ideas based on a concept I had earlier in the design process. I moved towards a geometric 'droplet' shape after exploring similar forms with more rounded, softer edges. One of the original reasons I moved away from similar designs was the difficulty I had combining the solar panels with a light. I struggled to develop a concept that melded the two components in a cohesive manner. By embracing a geometric look, the transition from darker solar panel to the softer lighting side appears more considered and purposeful.
