I booked a time with a local wood turner to give me a hand making my table legs. It's a job I could have done at school....but I needed it done quickly...something that wouldn't be possible in the 3d lab, so I opted to fork out for a professional job.

I met Kevin Hodder, an elderly fella who has been wood turning for years, at the North Shore Wood turners Guild. Situated in an old Boy Scout hall, its full of wood turning equipment, and a fair few knowledgeable old guys. They even had an old pedal powered wood lathe from 1849, made in Illinois, USA!

Kevin got stuck into making my legs, and it was pretty cool watching an old master work his magic, despite the simplicity of the job.
