I presented my design concept to a panel of AT and Auckland Council members. The design was reasonably well received, with concern being shown regarding the vulnerability of the bus poles I aim to attach my lamp to. Apparently, these are occasionally knocked over in automotive accidents. I imagine that this wouldn't happen too often at all, and I want to disregard this insight. I feel that with the poly-carbonate protective shell, my lamp design would survive forcefully striking the ground, and even if damage does occur, the bolt on panels used in its construction are easily replaced, reducing the cost of repair.
At this stage, I will lock in this design and push forwards with further developing it.
