AT: LEDs

The lighting put out by my street light design needs to be both visible in order to be easily identified, and be of a certain hue that doesn't distract motorists as per the 'moth effect' covered in a previous post.

The light bulb on the left is a traditional white light, similar in hue to the ones used in Auckland's new LED streetlights, while the one on the right is a common 'warm light' LED bulb. This warmer LED light is what I anticipate being used in my design proposal. A warmer light will stand out against the sterile white light of the new LED street lamps, and will provide an inviting, homely glow around the bus stop. The warmer light will also reduce street level glare, one of the primary factors in the 'moth effect'.
