The waste product Action Manufacturing discards is a proprietary material called Omnipanel. It consists of a layer of polyurethane foam sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass. It is used in the construction of ambulances, truck bodies (especially food cartage), and camper vans, among other things. During the manufacturing of these vehicles, off cuts of this panel accumulate. Action Manufacturing, from now on abbreviated to AM, discard considerable amounts of this Omnipanel, paying for it to be taken to the landfill. Un-biodegradable, it will sit in the earth indefinitely. Their challenge to us is to develop a feasible use for this waste material.
