Looking at images of schools in developing countries revealed an interesting point; they follow a traditional 'eyes front' layout, with desks in rows and the students facing a teacher at the front of the class. I feel this is due to the rudimentary level of education offered at schools in developing nations; with only a basic education on offer, only a basic classroom setup is required, or so its assumed.

Is there benefit in collaborative group work? The benefits of this are well documented, especially in the design realm, where it is considered vital. It will be interesting to see whether this sort of group dynamic could be utilised in a developing nations school curriculum. A tip off from a classmate led me to a Product Design graduate student named Ankit. Originally from India, he has first hand experience of the varied levels of education available to people in countries where there isn't a consistent educational system in place. I shall pursue an interview with him in order to ascertain information regarding my chosen design opportunity.
