Following the advice of Sam and Will from Action Manufacturing, I wanted to design a chair with the the absolute minimum of waste. I started developing a concept that utilises a full 1175 x 810mm sheet of Omnipanel and the smaller offcuts from the table leg sections.

My concept halves a sheet of Omnipanel, and makes use of my other offcuts to form the seat and back rest, getting rid of almost all the Omnipanel sheeting. BUT......its incredibly ugly and heavy. I'm stuck between something quite nice looking, but slightly wasteful, or something appalling to look at, but with a minimum of waste product. I've definitely reached a bit of an impasse...and I'll have to work quickly to ideate around it.
