Semester 2: Further leg concepts

I continued ideating different leg joinery ideas. With my initial threaded insert idea dismissed, I decided to try an exterior fitted join.

The issue I couldn't seem to get around was the labor costs involved. Any solution that requires welding is bound to be too expensive. The same could be said for a combination of folded sheet metal and wooden legs. The machine time to get the legs fitting perfectly would be cost prohibitive.

The last concept I came up with before heading home for the night is also, I feel, the most promising so far. Its a simple flatbar frame, bent up, with an absolute minimum of welding. I'll swing this past my lecturer tomorrow, and get an expert opinion.
