Semester 2: Concept redevelopment

As I wasn't able to carry on with my second concept, I decided to revisit a concept I had previously culled.

I decided to make a foam model of the slip on leg attachment, though like my recently cancelled concept, I decided to work some adjustment into it to increase its sales potential.

I imagine a wooden table leg attached to the top clamp, but able to twist within it. There is thread on both the table leg and the opening in the bottom clamp. To tighten, you simply twist the table leg, and the bottom clamp will work its way up the thread, before tightening into the underside of the table.

Its a sound concept, will work well, and will also be able to be sold on its own as a DIY table leg that can fit to a variety of surfaces. But as I was making the foam model, I thought of a simplified iteration. The concept above is fairly large, taking up a bit of room on the table, and it is comprised of two separate pieces. What if there was only one piece; a C-shaped attachment with a threaded boss on the underside. The table leg screws up through that, and clamps onto the underside of the table. The leg takes the place of the second clamp of the previous item.

Same result, in a simpler package. I'll sketch some ideas out before making some prototypes.
